About the Pre-Meeting Workshop (Separate Registration Required)
A Discussion on Optimizing Wind Turbine/Plant Performance
Analysis of project and turbine performance is a rapidly evolving field. In this workshop, we will discuss approaches to performance analytics, including:
- The latest on vibration analysis and oil condition analysis
- Analysis via SCADA data
- Blade health and turbine performance
- Successes and failures of failure prediction
- Integrating data streams to generate an overall picture of turbine, project, and fleet health
The workshop format for this discussion will include several invited experts to participate in the discussion.
About the Plenary Session
It’s time to tackle the sleeping giants! Foundations and towers are what our turbines stand on, yet understanding and managing the health of these critical components can be challenging. We will hear from industry specialists on these key topics:
- Towers 101 – learn what is important about your towers
- Details of tower inspection, including a discussion of best practices in weld and bolted joint inspection
- Weld repairs on towers
- A look ahead at the future of towers, including tall towers, non-tubular towers, and hybrid towers
- Foundations 101 – learn what goes into making and maintaining a lasting foundation
- Understanding the condition of foundations via inspection
- The effects of uprating and repowering on foundations
- Best practices related to tensioning foundation bolts
- Recent learning from foundation stiffness measurements
Confirmed speakers include"
- Nestor Agbayani, Agbayani Structural Engineering
- Dave Cziraki, Acuren
- Brian Tri, Barr Engineering
- Ron Grife, Leeward Energy
About the Roundtables
The heart of the meeting consists of manufacturer-specific roundtables for user group members only. The format consists of open discussions, moderated by Roundtable Chairpersons, centered on a specific wind turbine component or specific model of wind turbine. The Roundtables provide the opportunity for frank and open discussion among users, who share their information, knowledge and experience.
Participation in the Roundtables is limited to employees of ESIG member organizations that own, operate, or maintain wind generation equipment.
The Users Group also operates a roundtable focusing on Balance of Plant issues. The Balance of Plant Roundtable will be held the afternoon of April 2.
Currently, the Turbine Roundtable lineup is as follows:
April 1
- GE 1X
- Vestas V100 and Newer
- Siemens
- Suzlon/Gamesa
April 2
- GE 2.X
- Vestas Legacy
- Acciona/Nordex
- Clipper/Mitsubishi/Senvion
- Balance of Plant
