About the Plenary Session

The Plenary Session will focus on lightning.  Attendees will hear different perspectives on the interaction between lightning and operational assets, including a “101” educational session about lightning, featuring an owner with considerable experience on lightning and blade damage, and thoughts on what can be done to minimize operational impacts of lightning. The presentations will be followed by an interactive discussion to hear other experiences with lightning and how lightning-related problems have been solved.

About the Roundtables

The heart of the meeting consists of manufacturer-specific Roundtables for users group members only. The format consists of open discussions, moderated by Roundtable chairpersons, centered on a specific wind turbine component or specific model of wind turbine. The Roundtables provide the opportunity for frank and open discussion among users, who share their information, knowledge and experience.

Participation in the Roundtables is limited to employees of ESIG member organizations that own, operate, or maintain wind generation equipment.

The Users Group also operates Roundtables focusing on Balance of Plant and Solar O&M issues. The Balance of Plant Roundtable will be held the afternoon of October 3.

Currently, the Turbine Roundtable lineup is as follows:

October 2

  • GE 1.X
  • Clipper/Senvion
  • Siemens

October 3
